About the Author
Anthony Saunders is the John M. Schiff Professor of Finance and the Chair of the Department of Finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University. Professor Saunders received his PhD from the London School of Economics and has taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses at NYU since 1978. Throughout his academic career, his teaching and research have specialized in financial institutions and international banking. He has served as a visiting professor all over the world, including INSEAD, the Stockholm School of Economics, and the University of Melbourne. He is currently on the Executive Committee of the Salomon Center for the Study of Financial Institutions, NYU. His research has been published in all the major money and banking and finance journals and in several books. In addition, he has authored or co-authored several professional books, the most recent of which is Credit Risk Measurement: New Approaches to Value at Risk and Other Paradigms, John Wiley and Sons, New York, 1999

I am a part-time lecturer at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. Due to an inadvertent error in Administration, we opted to purchase the required textbooks for students on-line. Since the semester had already started, timing was a critical issue. I am happy to report that all books were received within two (2) weeks of my ordering without any problems or complications. I've read both 80/20 and The Ultimate Guide To Google Adwords, which were among the best I've read on the subjects; this new book takes the cake though. In The Ultimate Guide, Perry briefly talks about how to fire up local businesses with PPC in one chapter. It wasn't enough. Now, he goes in-depth explaining the ins and outs for using Adwords to build your local business...and, it's a MUST read if you're a local business owner. There is nothing else out there quite like this book.

Simply the best PPC book on the market hands down!

Perry Marshall came together with Taylor Zamir to produce this great book based on their private PPC group product they have. This is Master's level PPC stuff, WITHOUT GETTING TOO COMPLICATED!
Their writing styles stand out and capture the attention.
I haven't read Perry's other books, but now I am inclined to read the local SEO book he has. If anyone has read his other books feel free to respond here and let me know if they are worth it (not too much money).

The difference between this book and "Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords"

Maybe I'm an idiot, but since this book and "Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords" both cover Google AdWords, and since "Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords" was published in 2014 and Google is constantly changing AdWords, I couldn't tell if this book was Perry's latest, updated information on AdWords, or if this book supplemented "Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords."

Even after reading this book, I wasn't sure if I still needed "Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords." A ton of online research provided no answers, so I finally contacted Perry Marshall's company, and here was their helpful reply:

"The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords is a great introduction into Google Adwords and how it all works, whereas the Ultimate Guide to Local Business Marketing focuses on helping local business owners and their marketing strategy. It does cover some aspects of Google Adwords, but it's not as comprehensive as the Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords when it comes to understanding Google Adwords as a tool. Neither book is meant to be a replacement for the other.

In the end it really just depends on how deeply you want to delve into the world of Google Adwords. If you're interested in a more thorough understanding of Google Adwords, I believe it is a wise investment and covers a lot of things you won't find in the Local Business Marketing book. :)"

Between the film release of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, this is the season of the magical movie, and this audiobook is an inevitable spinoff. Countless readers have grown up on the adventures of the little furry hobbits who crave good food and a warm bed, but wind up trapped in caves, attacked by spiders and burdened by a dizzying assortment of treacherous adventures. While the stories are quite intricate, the message of good triumphing over evil is always evident. This appealing theme of the downtrodden overcoming obstacles is what keeps listeners' attention. There is so much action on this dramatization that listeners may often feel pulled in many directions. The narrators, including Ray Reinhardt as Bilbo and Bernard Mayes as Gandalf, are engaging, and the sound effects (including noises in the cave or forest, or the hobbits sitting down to a meal) are also quite strong. But those not already familiar with the story may find it difficult to distinguish between the various characters or keep track of all the action. Listeners will probably want to read the book along with listening, or perhaps listen and then watch the movie. The tapes are presented in a rustic-looking wooden box, making this appropriate for gift giving.

Very nice set of books for the price. Recommended. Read review and view pics for detail on font for pocket-sized "paperback."

Very nice books, binding seems nice. I love the covers although they are not "paperback" and are more of a fake leather material. These books are beautiful and very convenient. They are pocket-sized which is great for on the go, they aren't too small or too big (actually bigger than I anticipated which is a plus). The font size is readable, the only thing I would have to note is that the font size isn't the same throughout the different books. The font size seems to be based on the length of the books, the longer the books are, the smaller the font is (I suppose this was in order to keep them pocket-sized as well as consistent with the sizes of the other books throughout the set). If you have decent to good eyes, this set would be perfectly fine for you on the go but those people who don't have as good of eye sight, because I know some people who tend to get headaches while focusing on small font, this set may not be for you. I will upload some pics of the font comparisons, books, etc.

A great edition for the price

I'll keep it brief, this is not a review of the actual story but of this specific edition. I have attached many pictures that I hope help you decide if this is an edition you want to buy.

Pros:
- The font is big and easy to read.
- 65 beautiful illustrations by Alan Lee that bring the story to life.

Cons:
- Slipcover is an opaque plastic, whit a modern look that I think doesn't complement the book.
- One or two blank pages before and/or after each illustration.

Overall I think this is a great edition and it's worth buying.

A worthy addition to anyone's collection

Since at this point these books no longer need an introduction, I might as well go straight into the review of this edition, the Deluxe Pocked Boxed Set. It features leatherette covers, which are soft and very well made. The colors are less saturated than they are in Amazon's picture, but that is for the better. They are definitely nice and easy to hold, and the "stand" it comes with is sturdy and beautiful. I decided to put them in my desk, and they could not have gotten a better place. The only complaint that might arise is that the font is small, but that is to be expected from a "pocket" edition, and it is readable anyway. Overall, the quality of this edition is magnificent. If you are a fan, this relatively inexpensive set should definitely be added to your collection. If you haven't read the books, stop reading this and go buy them. Seriously. Now.

What a boring read concerning a topic that can be really interesting. Had to really fight my way through it due to the way it was written. I think they put this text together the same way people cheat on term papers that are run through computers. Make it seem intelligent by making it so unnecessarily wordy that it MUST be good. There HAS to be a better option for this subject. If you're a college professor, find a better option for your students. If you're a student and your professor has required it- sorry:(

She Can't Be...But She Is

This is an interesting, exciting, intense read. Prejudice is keeping her life in danger. Xander won't allow himself to mate with Eden because she is a halfling. But life and dire situations have a way of making you decide who and what's really important. Enjoy I did. An ARC was given to me by the author for an honest review.

Packed full of Excitement and Danger. I loved it

This book was very exciting and intense There was so much prejudice and danger all around. Xander would not allow himself to mate with Eden because she is not considered a full shifter and is known as a halfling. But when he found out what his mother attempted that changed his reasoning. The hunters keep tracking them and because of the danger they were in caused him to realize what's really important. They found help in an unexpected source. This book was packed full of excitement and danger. I loved the person that Eden was and how she grew throughout the book and fought for herself and those she loved. An ARC was given to me by the author for an honest review

shifters, hunters, evil experiments - this book has it all

This is a great book!!. Xander is a pureblood wolf shifter from Sanctuary who is in love with his best friend's half sister. But he can never claim her for her own safety. His parents and the elite would kill her for not being pure enough to shift. Thus starts this saga. Human hunters trap the pair and take them to a facility where shifters are experimented on. Very exciting and fast moving, this tale takes us across North America, with chases, battles and split family loyalties. Great characters and a thrilling story

Plot? What plot?

I've read all of Radclyffe's Honor series, and enjoyed them immensely up until now. Unfortunately, I found this installment disappointing. Radclyffe has written many excellent action/romance books, including the Justice series & the earlier books in the Honor series. Her other A/R books have been characterized by interesting plots, some nice twists & turns, and enjoyable romances between the main characters, with the occasional hot love scene thrown in to relieve the tension between the characters. Honor Reclaimed contains lots & lots of loves scenes, with the occasional bit of plot tossed in. It's almost like Rad wanted to give equal "screen time" to the 3 romantic couples. Since all 3 couples are still in the honeymoon stage, they jump into bed (or into the shower, or onto the kitchen counter, or behind the nearest shrub) whenever the mood strikes them. I.e., whenever they happen to be in the same zip code. ;)

If one skips all the erotica, the book is about half its length, and the weakness of the plot development becomes glaringly obvious. The focus of the book is supposed to be Secret Service agent Cameron's investigation into who nearly assassinated her lover & protectee Blair, the President's daughter, during the chaos of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately we don't get to see Cam do much investigating. She assembles a team, but all the breakthroughs are revealed when someone comes running into the room declaring she has a lead. We don't see Cam directing the investigation or brainstorming ideas with her team, or analyzing the data they find. Things just happen off-screen & we are given the reports.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. As a romance, it was excellent. As an adventure/suspense book, it fell flat. I'll still buy future books in this series, but I hope that Rad does a better job of balancing the adventure with the romance.

Dynamite Sequel

Honor Reclaimed is the fifth book in Radclyffe's Honor Series, and if you have not read the previous four, now is the time. It has been said that it is difficult to make a sequel better than the original. Well, Radclyffe has written each one better than the last, culminating in a thoughtful, compassionate and captivating story in the aftermath of 9/11.

Honor Reclaimed continues where Honor Guards left off. It is two days after September 11. On that date, while horrific events were unfolding nationwide, an assassination attempt was made on the president's daughter Blair Powell, resulting in the death of two secret service agents. Most of the secret service team, including the lead agent and her lover, Cameron Roberts, is removed from protecting Blair when it is determined that the attempt was an inside job. Only Paula Stark, the new agent in charge, remains on the team because she put herself in the line of fire. Cam is convinced that another strike is imminent and thus has Blair sequestered in a safe house. While Paula is protecting Blair, Cam is searching for answers with her newly formed team to prevent another attempt on her life. When another attempt is made, the weapon this time is bioterrorism, and Cam's team must act quickly to save Blair. However, Cam still doesn't know if there is a traitor in their midst, working against everything she is trying to protect.

Radclyffe skillfully describes how everyone involved is dealing with 9/11 in their very personal, as well as professional, way. Each has their own demon to fight as they attempt to reach out to one another. The supporting cast is superb and adds depth to the story. FBI Agent Renee Savard is struggling with the memories of having been in one of the Twin Towers as it collapsed; her lover, Paula, is trying to cope with being Blair's new secret service agent in charge. Cam and Blair do not have much time to explore their growing love as each is trying to protect the other. Diane Bleeker and Valerie Lawrence are just beginning to discover one another, but Valerie's secrets threaten their tenuous relationship. Blair's and Diane's friendship is fleshed out too, demonstrating durability and an unwavering faith - the sort of alliance we all seek out.

Honor Reclaimed is honest and intense. Radclyffe balances passion with the uncertainty of each character's future as well as the country's. When Paula and Renee make love, they are seeking comfort and belonging. Each character is trying to find answers through their need to connect with another after their world is upended. The first passionate love scene between Valerie and Diane where Valerie finally lets someone touch her is moving and breathtaking. Allowing others to reach inside and comfort us when we feel lost is at the very core of Honor Reclaimed. It is a brilliant effort.

When an author tries to create a fictional event around history, her weaknesses can easily be exposed if the story is inconsistent with the events. When the event becomes part of a nation's psyche, it is doubly important that the author knows what she is doing. To create a book surrounding the shocking and serious events of 9/11, it takes a mature, gutsy and sensitive author to construct a fictional tale that understands the magnitude of the real event it encompasses. Radclyffe has done just that with Honor Reclaimed. It is an incomparable story that parallels real life which only a seasoned and gifted author could accomplish admirably. Bravo, Radclyffe!

Another Winner From the Queen of Lesbian Fiction

I'm not sure, but I don't think I've ever rated one of Radclyffe's books less than 5 stars. This is not because I'm automatic pilot when I read her books, it's just that her books really are THAT good. 'Honor Reclaimed' is no exception to the rule. Before it came in the mail, I re-read the first four books in the series (again) back to back. Having the details fresh in my mind, I expected the author to miss a few details or forget to close a subject or two. That didn't happen!

I also expected the story line to start to get stale. That didn't happen either! Radclyffe did a great job keeping the entire story moving along, adding new character relationships and keeping her historical facts straight. She made the story so exciting that I'm anxiously awaiting book 6 in the series. Radclyffe has left many doors open, so the plot could be almost anything.

It's hard not to fall in love with Cameron Roberts and Blair Powell, Renee Savard and Paula Stark, Diane Bleaker and Valerie Lawrence...

This book has it all... Love, intrigue, mystery, action, passion, politics, and more... Your collection will not be complete without it.

About the Author
Michael Boylan is Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Philosophy Department at Marymount University. He is author of 26 books and more than 100 articles. His monograph A Just Society (2004) was recently the subject of an edited volume featuring fourteen authors from eight countries, entitled Morality and Justice: Reading Boylan's 'A Just Society'. He has served on professional and governmental policy committees and was a Fellow at the Center for American Progress and a program presenter at the Brookings Institution. He is an international figure who has been an invited speaker at a number of prominent universities outside the United States, including Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester, University College London, Trinity College (Dublin), University College (Dublin), The Sorbonne, The Katholic University of Leuven, University of Oslo, University of Copenhagen, Cologne University, Bochum University, Twente and Delft Universities, Santiago University (Chile), University of Sydney, University of Melbourne, Australian National University and Charles Sturt University (Waga Waga, Australia). He is also a published novelist and poet.

Good basic book, but old version

Good ethics book, but this is the old edition, unless directed by school or insturctor don't get it, get the new addition. If you are an insturctor get the new edition and contact them for the test banks.

It's Great -- For a Textbook

This is a textbook, so I can't honestly say that I love it, but for my class it is really great. It's clear and concise and I like the way it gives you highlights at the end of each chapter as well as test questions -- which my professor always used -- so you know pretty much what you'll need to know. It's thorough and informative but it is also very repetitive through the chapters... to me, at least.

This text was purchased as required reading for a course. The book is overall well organized and easy to read and search. I still had to purchase a book on APA guidelines as this text didn't go into enough detail for the class, but as far as required reading goes, it worked.
