I have been rushing through books in `spare time'. This is one of them.

This book is written clearly. There are some beautiful coloured graphics in the middle of the book. I would have preferred more worked examples and more illustrative graphics to amplify the text. In particular, covariant differentiation and differentiable vector fields and the stepwise approach to proof of the Gauss Bonnet theorem (i.e. triangulations).

These comments almost certainly reflect my struggles with these concepts. There are answers to exercises at the back of the book and a useful bibliography.

Probably the Best Little Book on Psychology There is

I was assigned this book for a graduate class on the history of psychology I took a few years ago at the University of Southern California. I've moved on to my next degree in clinical psychology and have read many more lengthy books since then. Whertheimer's book presented itself once again to me when my father recently asked if I could recommend one book to define what psychology is all about.
The discipline of psychology receives many false reprehensive parading from the outlook of pop-culture, which have misled the lay person. Despite differing views, the history of any subject provides a solid, undisputable source to comprehend it. That is why among all the other books I've read on psychology this one stands out as being the most definitive. Even among other books concerning the history of psychology, this one summarizes the complex philosophical, theoretical, experimental, political, and biographical constituents of the enterprise so concisely that it can be read in one sitting. Dreams and drives

This is a large, beautifully illustrated book, soft cover with thick glossy pages. The pictures are beautiful and the narrative is wonderful and inviting in typical National Geographic fashion. I purchased this book for two reasons - one is that I love to travel and wanted to have more ideas of places to see, and secondly I also love to travel with my eyes and imagination. This book covers all sorts of scenic drives in the US and across the globe - some I will likely never visit in person, but my eyes enjoyed the trip! I was delighted to find that many of the routes on the various Top 10 categories are ones that I have already visited, or already have on my bucket list for future travels. It is a good coffee table book, a great dream and wish book, and a good conversation starter. I am pleased with my purchase!
