Is it too late?

Another sexy story direct from the imagination of Savannah Stuart who some readers will recognise as the pen name of Katie Reus. If you are searching for a romance with both heat and plot then you have hit the payload with this book!
David first met Jade when his best friend introduced him to the woman he was about to marry. David couldn't quite believe that the gorgeous Jade would be forever out of reach but being the good and loyal guy that he is he never let the couple know how much he wanted Jade himself. Fate has a twisted way of throwing curve balls though and when Jades husband is killed in the line of duty David stands firm at her side and bides his time . Now I mentioned that fate toys with us well poor David is poll axed when he discovers that two years on Jade is about to go on a date and what's worse is it's not with him! Has he left it too late to romance the woman he loves? Can he ever get Jade to see him as something other than a friend?
In the midst of all this turmoil though comes a real threat to David's hopes and dreams. Jade crosses paths with a woman who is about to put Jade well and truly in danger. David's a tough guy but those chasing Jade are relentless and she's set right in the firing line. David has not waited this long only to lose his prize but time is most definitely not on his side as Jade has become a target!
I liked Jade right from the start. She's dealt admirably with bring widowed so young and has made a life for herself. She's bravely prepared to start facing life head on again and take risks but it was sweet to see how she didn't just push David away. He's not a character who deserves to be used as a rebound and the author did a fine job of allowing Jade to open up to him and really see him as a man and not just an old friend. Is he sexy? Oh most definitely yes and so prepared to do anything to make her feel like a desirable woman again .
This is more than just a romance though as although quite short there is a very strong storyline running through this book. I have no wish to spoil it but it's a very dramatic story with odious bad guys who deserve to come to a sticky end. I'm not sure about a couple of things that happened but it's fiction so anything goes! Sexy and fun, another good book from this author.

2nd chance romance that is erotic,face paced n filled with excitment-Must Read

This is a fast pace contemporary romance with a bit of the erotic suspense thrown in. Jade Hadley is a widow who is finally ready to get back into the dating pool again after being a widow for some time. The beginning of the book she is telling her sister she needs some "excitement and red hot sex" in her life. Enter Security expert David McIntyre-who happens to be her dead husband's best friend and he is her friend too.

He has loved Jade for a number of years secretly and when he hears she is ready to date again, he is determined that she date ONLY him. He sets out to woo her into his bed and into a forever relationship with him but unfortunately things do not see to work out that way for Jade's life is threatened and her life is at risk.

Multiple times she is shot at, she is attacked, and all Jade is trying to do is stay alive. David wants to keep Jade safe and sound AND wants her to realize how much he has loved her and to take a chance on giving their relationship a chance. Jade slowly comes to the realization that things are not always as they seem when it comes to life and to romance.

This is a very face paced romance with twists and turns. The action is great. The sex hot-- The emotional drama will pull at you so keep the tissues handy. Ms Stuart (who is better known as Katie Reus) knows how to weave the story and keep you riveted until the end and wanting more. I really like this story and hope to read more in this world. I fell in love with Jade and David's story because knowing you can have a 2nd chance at love is always a great thing.

Tempting Target was a quick morning read. It was pretty average reading for the most part, not bad but not great either. I do enjoy friend to lover stories but this was just missing something. Not sure what.

There's a little action, there's a little more steamy sex and there is a lot of feeling. While we know what David is after from the get go I think the way Jade's character progressed was close to reality. Being a young window cannot be easy and I found her inner turmoil realistic and frustrating, though when trying to place myself in her shoes I'm a bit more understanding about where her heart is.

About the Author
Paolo Lionni was born in Switzerland in 1938 and was educated there, in Italy, and in the U.S. (Brandeis University). During his lifetime he served as art director of several national magazines and his drawings, poetry, essays, and translations have been published in Europe, the U.S., and Mexico. For the last 15 years of his life, he was very active in the field of education promoting an alternative to the educational philosophies described in "The Leipzig Connection."

In the final years of the last century, a great transformation began in American education. By the end of the first world war, Americans would notice increasingly a change in the way their children were being educated. In the succeeding decades, the same schools that once nurtured the American dream would become infested with drugs and crime, and high schools would be graduating students who could barely read, spell, or do simple arithmetic.

This report details the origins of a national metamorphosis, yet it is hardly definitive. Major changes in American education, along the same lines as those described herein (and, in many cases, overlapping them), were wrought by the great Carnegie and Ford "philanthropies" and by a host of individuals (i.e., Col. Parker, Goddard, Terman, Yerkes, Binet, Piaget, Watson, Skinner, Freire, Illich, et. al.). Agencies other than those mentioned in the book also played major roles. Foremost among these undoubtedly is the august and hyperactive NEA with its National Training Labs, publisher of the "Journal of Applied Behavioral Science." Special mention should also be made of UNESCO's International Bureau of Education (formerly the Institut Jean-Jacques Rousseau), born in 1925 of a generous grant from the Rockefeller Foundation.

These initial and somewhat unexpected findings, however, incomplete, are released in order to help others analyze more clearly this tragic transformation of the national character. Further research has simply substantiated and enlarged upon the thesis of this work.

The ongoing debasement of philosophy and ethics, and its social consequences, is a tangled tale and, where references are not pursued or fully detailed, it is not because of an unwillingness to answer the questions raised rather it is from a desire to suggest a broader context within which the story unfolds. Those who contend, with Wilhelm Wundt, that history and its processes are responsible for the formation of individuals and their views (rather than the reverse) will undoubtedly find this approach unpalatable; then again, not everyone would want this tale untangled.

Why I wasn't able to teach finally makes sense!

I stopped teaching in May 2010, because I was tired of fighting to truly teach the children in my classroom. I had a 2 year old son and figured that I needed to worry about educating him. While trying to explain to my husband why I want to homeschool and trying to make a clear and concise argument for him, I cam across Charlotte Iserbyt's "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America." I began reading her book, which quickly began making sense. I then set out to read the other works that she had mentioned in her book. "The Leipzig Connection," by Paolo Lionni was the first that arrived. It's a short, small book of about 100 pages and explains how today's psychology was born, how it got to be the movement it's been since the beginning of the 19th century, and what those pushing this movement ultimately wanted. It explains how our schools were slowly changed over time. If one has ever been able to get their hands on a McGuffey Reader, the reading "textbook" of the 1800's one will quickly see the depth of vocabulary that education children had at this time, and how it far exceeds many of today's educators that have a PhD. This has always blown me away, and I have wondered and questioned why I couldn't expect more of my students and challenge them to think and grow educationally. I know understand why, and understand why many administrators have found my questioning so upsetting.

If you are unsatisfied with your child's education, your education, or even care a little about the education system in America, picking up this book and reading it will enlighten you. It will help you to understand what is happening in schools across America, and give you insight on what you are truly up against. The read is not difficult and the information is presented in a way that not only makes it as interesting as page turning thriller, but will also leave you wanting to learn more. Where American Education Went Wrong

Basically, this is a great place to start if you want to understand how American education got so messed up. It's a small book with less than 100 little pages, but it covers all the important people in the early decades, from about 1880 to 1950.

The thesis is that all our early educators got their start in Germany, at a famous university there, and acquired a lot of unfortunate tendencies. The book contains many quotations by all the heavy hitters (from Wilhelm Wundt to Rockefeller), with a footnote on almost every page, plus a dozen photographs and a long bibliography. The book definitely has a case to make, but does so in a scholarly way.

Here's one of John Dewey's quotations: "The ultimate problem of all education is to coordinate the psychological and social factors." From there it's all downhill. Note that there's no mention of anything academic or scholarly. Note that Dewey could solve this problem to his immense satisfaction and students could still end up ignorant. Which is pretty much what he achieved for us.

Don't suppose that these long ago manias have somehow moved on. They have not. In one of the weirdest pairings in history, far-left academics used Rockefeller's guilty millions to fund and shape Teachers College (and many others) with the express purpose of churning out indoctrinated teachers who would then be sent out into the countryside to indoctrinate the young. The beat goes on.

Wealth of Information on a Wealth of Art

It's too bad this book is so hard to find in the U.S. It should appeal to those interested in either art history or the history of the English Civil War/Commonwealth/Restoration. My own interest is chiefly in the history, and from that perspective I learned a lot. However, the book supplies almost too much information about 17th-century art and the English art market for my taste; someone more interested in or knowledgeable about either area would enjoy the book more. The writing style is adequate, neither brilliant nor clumsy.

Great reading!!

As an art fan and familiar with some of the great works in museums throughout Europe, this book explains the creation and collection of King Charles I of England. A superb collection of paintings that reflected the exquisite taste of King Charles is described in detail. Though the majority of the art works were recovered after the English revolution; some of the most priceless works are now in Paris, Madrid and Vienna. The book is a must for art and history lovers.

Good reference, but be fluent with languages

I consider it a good book. It brings a lot of information about the most important mathematicians and their discovery in probability and it is a classic with a good division of chapters and topics. The explanations of the discoveries are well done. You can see (even by looking the table of contents) that very few of the most important authors in the area are lacking. But it also has some problems. It happens that it quotes the original works in French and Latin in big paragraphs without translation. Well with French I 'm OK, but dead languages are not my field .

Headline: Excellent! The best directing book I’ve ever read!

Tomaric’s book on directing is one of the best I have ever read. He breaks down the entire process of directing a movie from the moment you get the script to the end of production. It explains all the terms, has lots of pictures and diagrams, and is really easy to understand. I like the advice that’s included from quite a few top directors in the film industry - it’s really helpful to hear different perspectives. If you want to learn how to direct actors, and direct the camera, this is definitely the book for you.

Essential reading for aspiring filmmakers!!

Incredibly informative and written in a way that is helpful for beginning directors or working directors needing a fresh perspective to hone their craft. The whole Film Skills series is fantastic, but for me personally, working as a short form material director, Directors Craft was the most essential. Seriously worth it for filmmakers, or those who want to work in film.

An interesting insight into the quirky, yet completely normal life of Twinkle Khanna.

Before I begin, I must admit to 2 things -

1. I like Twinkle Khanna - nope, not as an actress (she was a terrible one!) or even as a person (because I clearly don’t know her!). I like her in her columnist avatar; that is my most favorite version of her. I say most favorite version, because she is/has been many things - star-child turned actress turned candle maker turned columnist turned author. Phew!
2. I have a hard time thinking of this as a book - to me, it’s a collection of articles or blog posts or journal entries...maybe. Anything, but not a book. This is not necessarily a good or a bad thing; just my perception of it. Having said that, for the lack of a better description, I’ll stick with ‘book’ for now.

Mrs Funny Bones - the book, is narrated Mrs FunnyBones - Twinkle Khanna’s alter-ego (or so she says). I read this book in one-sitting (3 hours) - a feat I haven't performed in the past few years - not because it is an unputdownable, flawless, literary gem, but only because it is a fast, quick read.

It reads like several journal entries, and is mostly a narration of scattered, unimportant things that happen in her life, which are not exactly interesting, but her ready wit ensures that they are not boring either.

I must also mention that this book is not a showcase of the glittering life of a superstar's wife. On the contrary, it is an insider look into the quirky, yet completely normal life of Twinkle Khanna - the mother, wife, daughter and entrepreneur.

Big Expectations:

To be honest, I had big expectations from this book. Mostly because, I have read several of her articles, and have really enjoyed them. She is sassy, sarcastic, and has a great sense of humour, which reflects in her writing.

Then came the title, and cover release, and I loved them too. Even after reading the book, I feel that the title and the cover work very well. They stand out, and also convey the mood of the book.

A (little) Disappointing Reality:

Having said what I have said, this book did not quite meet my expectations. Admittedly, the expectations were pretty big to begin with, but it’s not just that.

A beautiful book to make your life hard moments bearable

I will be honest I did not know that Mrs Khanna did write Blogs. My wife showed me this book and mentioned that it is good.
I did by this book (no piracy :)) for my wife and not for me.
She did not read it and i wanted a light read so picked this up.
I was surprised, I would never have thought the Twinkle Khanna , the movie star could write so beautifully.

Getting humor into any aspect of life (write , talk, act) is very difficult. but the way she has got humor us marvelous. The small anecdotes of life and making it hilarious , hats off to you.

I loved the small snippets where she talks about her husband and mother.
The Prodigal son reminds me of any kid you can see.

A good book, keep it with you , for the moments when you are feeling low about your life. This will make those moments lighter.

Great Book

I got this book for my son who needed to learn VBScript fast for some reason. Within days he already mastered it and work with his co-workers to fix some problem they had at work. I would give this book to anyone that needs to learn VBScript fast and easy. If my son was happy with it then I'm happy with it.

Do not waste your time with this pamphlet, it is riddled with errors and missing information. You'll find more accurate information on Microsoft's website concerning VBScript.

Be cautious if ordering this book for beginners.

Only advance programmers can spot the errors in this book when referring to code. For the beginners, they might be pulling their hair out trying to find out why some of the examples are not working. Be very cautious when ordering this pamphlet of 54 pages. Also, understand that even though the title and cover do not mention it, this vbscript literature is catered when working with HTML. I had to modify examples for vbscripts using a .vbs extension, but still some html examples are flawed.

If you do get this, only get it as an e-book as you should not pay more than $3 for this. The physical books offered are way over priced, especially when you see the amount of errors published. With a little proof reading and corrections, this book can have a value of $7 but no more.
